Senior Programmer - Unannounced Unreal Project

We are looking for a senior programmer to join a new team working on an exciting lifestyle party game based on a high-profile IP that features live action video and motion effects. As well as hands on development this role has some management aspects and would be suitable for a senior who is looking to gain experience in that area. 

  • Contract or FTC - 12 months

  • Location: Croydon

  • Some flexible working negotiable.

Key responsibilities

  • Working with the part-time TD and acting as the "on the ground" code senior for the project.

  • Developing and implementing code features.

  • Working with the production and other disciplines to help define work and design.

  • Mentoring junior code staff.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential

  • Strong knowledge of C++

  • Experience in optimisation.

  • 4+ years of experience making video games.

  • One or more shipped game in a senior position on console

  • Self-motivated, organised, good communication skills and positive can-do attitude.

Desirable

  • Lead and staff management experience.

  • Familiarity with video playback and decoding

  • Enjoys playing social, lifestyle and party games.

  • Unreal Engine experience.

  • Nintendo Switch experience.


Senior Programmer - Narcos

We are looking for a senior game play programmer to join the Narcos team. The role involves working to develop game play features and functionality for this upcoming title. The Narcos game is for PC and console and to be released in 2019 through Curve Digital Games. 

  • Contract or FTC - 10 months

  • Location: Croydon

  • Some flexible working negotiable.

Key responsibilities

  • Developing and implementing game play features.

  • Working with the production and other disciplines to help define work and design.

  • Mentoring junior code staff.

  • Reports to the project TD.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential

  • Strong knowledge of C++

Senior UI/UX Artist

Key responsibilities

  • Working with Unreal UMG to create visually distinctive and user-friendly front-end/in-game UI for console and PC.

  • Making wireframes and user-flow diagrams to meet design requirements.

  • Creating visual designs/concepts for front-end menus and in-game UI.

  • Prototyping interactions using Unreal.

  • Creating 2D content such as icons and illustrations.

  • Technical implementation of UI elements in Unreal Engine using UMG.

  • Ensuring the UI assets conform to technical requirements and engine constraints.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential 

  • Portfolio demonstrating excellent sense of form, typography, composition and colour.

  • Good understanding of UX practices for console and PC games.

  • Ability to create wireframes, user-flow diagrams and prototypes.

  • Demonstrable technical ability to create user-interface elements for 2D and 3D interaction.

  • One or more shipped game.

  • Self-motivated, organised, good communication skills and positive can-do attitude.

  • Experience of working effectively in a team in-house or remotely.

Desirable

  • Experience with Unreal UMG.

  • Blueprint scripting experience.

  • Motion design/VFX skills.

Game Art Director

We are looking for a talented art director with 3D and 2D motion graphics experience to orchestrate the creation of exhilarating and dynamic real-time motion graphics and realistic 3d environments. You will be leading a team to create video content from live action content and pre-rendered environments and VFX for a lifestyle party game.

10 month contract or FTC.

East Croydon with some flexibility to work remotely.

Key responsibilities

  • Managing and mentoring a small team of 3D artists/motion designers and UI artists.

  • Overseeing the design for a responsive, accessible and rewarding user-interface.

  • Project planning and organisation.

  • Technical management of complex video-based production.

  • Working with client to ensure art style is on-brand.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential

  • Experience leading teams to create high-end graphics.

  • Portfolio demonstrating artistic flare and keen eye for detail, composition and colour.

  • Demonstrable experience in motion graphics and animation.

  • Proven ability to create and light realistic 3D rendered environments.

  • After Effects experience.

  • One or more shipped game in a lead position on console

  • Self-motivated, organised, good communication skills and positive can-do attitude.

  • Experience of working effectively in a team in-house or remotely.

Desirable

  • Experience with After Effects plugins such as Element 3D and Trapcode Particular.

  • Knowledge of video codec and encoding practices.

  • Enjoys playing social, lifestyle and party games.

  • UX design experience.

Unreal 4 UI Developer/Technical Designer

Key Responsibilities

We are looking for a senior UI developer/technical designer who will be responsible for implementing user interfaces in Unreal working from wireframes and technical specifications.

Working with design and art disciplines to prototype and iterate on UI solutions.

Technical implementation of user interfaces to final shippable quality.

Contract or FTC – 6 months

Location: Croydon/some flexible remote working

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential

• At least one shipped game using Unreal Engine

• Experience developing complex user interfaces for console and PC

• Excellent knowledge of blueprint for UI development

• Knowledge of localisation systems.

• Great communication skills and positive can-do attitude.

• Good organisation skills.

Desirable

• C++ experience
